Koch Foods is recruiting experienced an experienced QA Regulatory Supervisor in Pine Mountain Valley, GA. Koch Foods offers relocation assistance, competitive salary, many opportunities for growth, bonus potential and a robust benefit package.The Regulatory Supervisor oversees all regulatory policies and programs for the shift.  

Primary Responsibilities:

§  Responsible for ensuring compliance with federal poultry sanitation and HACCP regulations and acting liaison between the FSIS and the facility.

o   Discussing non-compliance issues in process as appropriate with FSIS

o   Plant audits consisting of the following:

§  Review of regulatory records in process

§  Direct observations of program monitoring or execution

§  Performing monitoring as described in the program

§  Following up and communicating with management about areas of opportunity or repeated deficiencies

§  Implement food safety systems including but not limited to HACCP, SSOPs and prerequisite programs for their assigned shift.

o   Plant audits to perform review of the implementation and monitoring to ensure  programs are being followed as written

o   Hands on work with monitors or management responsible for implementation to ensure a smooth transition

o   Give guidance to management on procedures to ensure written programs are followed

§  Maintain record keeping systems to track and trend food safety systems’ data related to HACCP, SSOP and prerequisite programs documentation.

o   Daily entry of all deficiencies into the database or spread sheet

§  HACCP deviations

§  SSOP Deviations

§  GMP Deviations

§  SPS Deviations

§  Temperature and pH Data entry

§  FPS data entry

o   Maintain data entry on needed documentation to close the loops

o   Verify that repairs or other actions have been taken or completed.

o   Complete reports using the databases (weekly reports)

o   Report trends verbally and/or orally as necessary to management

§  Regularly review documented corrective actions and preventive measures for the SSOP and HACCP programs to ensure that the intention of the regulatory requirements are met.

o   Daily review of the daily regulatory documentation

§  HACCP records

§  SSOP records

§  SPS records

§  GMP records

§  Prerequisite Program records

o   Follow up with management on all record keeping issues for correction daily

o   Evaluate and review the corrective actions and preventive measures documented on all deficiencies to ensure that they meet the intent of the regulations

§  Collect data and information to respond to USDA non-compliances in a timely manner.

o   Enter received non-compliances in the database

o   Type written responses to non-compliances and submit to USDA

o   Ensure organized tracking, filing and archiving of non-compliances

§  Conduct food safety training courses for QA and Production personnel in order to propagate a healthy food safety system on their assigned shift.

o   Complete training as requested by management

o   Complete assigned training for the plant or management for regulatory programs

 Position is expected to consist of the following time utilization:

•        20% - Being present on the production floor ensuring compliance

•        10% - Performing training tasks

•        50% - Performing relevant tasks related to records review, following up, and data entry

•        10% - Attending or chairing relevant meetings

Job Requirements

  • BS degree in Poultry Science or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 year experience in Quality Assurance / Regulatory
  • HACCP Certified by a HACCP Alliance Approved Instructor preferred
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
